Since our humble beginning in 1990, we have provided a level of disc jockey services far and above the common mobile DJ.   We are currently one of the very few full time entertainment companies in Central Ohio, and it shows in our performances!

Our first event was the Saunders / Rosen wedding reception on August 25, 1990 at the Concourse Airport Hotel.  Rod didn't sleep much the night before and we had to rent most of the equipment that we used that day. The new company which Rod decided to call Buckeye Sounds did a grand total of 5 events that year and lost twice as much money as it brought in for 1990! A short two years later we added another sound system so that we could handle more events - which totaled about 60 that year, and we were no longer losing money on the business.

We began to perform at school dances and bar / bat mitzvahs in the mid 90's.  By adding interactive dancers and larger sound systems we quickly discovered that we excelled at these special events.

Current and past clients include Fortune 500 companies such as BMW, Wendy's, Doctors Hospital, Stanley Steamer, MCI, Pepsi Co., McDonalds,  Marriott International, Westin Hotels, to name but a few.

Our staff of entertainers receive extensive training in disc jockeying, emceeing, dancing, and other entertainment techniques. We follow up each job with a performance evaluation that is available for future client reference.

Buckeye Sounds is without question one of the most respected entertainment companies not only in the Columbus area but also on a national basis. Members of the staff at Buckeye Sounds have received the honor of being featured speakers at the 1998, 2001, and 2005 International DJ Conference held in Atlantic City.

In 2000, we were named Mobile DJ Company of the Month from the DJ Times, a magazine for the DJ community! 

In 2006 we added decor lighting to really make events special.  Also that year we added the Dance In The Clouds which is a very unique option!
